How to prepare ground for turf:

Turfing is one of the fastest and most convenient ways to achieve a perfectly lush lawn and make your garden greener. Many people think that laying turf is a complicated and tedious process. Truth is, it could be quite easy. What most garden enthusiasts struggle with, however, is not how to lay turf, but how prepare the ground for it. When it comes to preparation for laying turf, there are a few important things every lawn owner and home gardener needs to know. Our Professional Gardening team is here to tell you all about it and help you make the best decisions for your green area. For best results, we would recommend that turf needs to be laid onto good quality, prepared topsoil at least 15cm (6 inches) deep. If the topsoil in your garden is either too shallow or is poor quality, it is wise to bring in more soil before you lay turf.

Garden privacy

How to increase garden privacy without blocking light

This is the next big question. This, too, is about working out what the sight lines are. Who can see you? And when do you need the privacy? If you only need privacy in your garden in summer, then you can plant deciduous trees and shrubs which lose their leaves in the winter. They’ll only give you garden privacy in the summer, but often let more light into your house in the darker days of winter. Once again, don’t plant a tree right on the boundary. Try to plant it as close to where you want the privacy as possible. Because if you plant a tree for privacy closer to your terrace or seating area, even quite a small tree will interrupt the sight line.
